A Man Who Mastered the Art of Being Humble

Today the world seems to reward those who shout the loudest, and humility can feel like outdated righteousness. But we like humble people. Those who are humble don’t try to impress anyone. They are at ease with themselves, generous with their friendship, possess an abundance of kindness and are genuine. Moorings resident, Harold Ogle, was exactly as that describes.

Harold had many friends at the Moorings and gave generously to causes important to him. Contributing to the Geneva Foundation to support the Presbyterian Homes charitable mission touched his heart. He always contributed so others would benefit without ever expecting anything in return, which of course is the true meaning of what it is to be humble, right?

Harold quietly passed away in January of 2022. If one is not prepared, chaos can ensue for those left behind but that was not the case with Harold’s passing. He prepared for his eventual demise. Harold bequeathed his assets to loved ones and to charitable organizations so many could benefit from the life he lived.

Harold gave the Geneva Foundation $600,000 to benefit the charitable mission of Presbyterian Homes. He cared so greatly for friends, neighbors and others in the Presbyterian Homes communities that he ensured resources would be available if need ever presented itself.

People Harold never knew will benefit from his forethought and philanthropy. May God bless Harold abundantly for his life well-lived while on this earth.

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38
