OUR FAMILY: Here for One Another

Judy Noble

After her passing, memorials in Judy Noble's name were directed to the Employee Emergency Assistance Fund.

Presbyterian Homes is a family, and in urgent situations we—residents, volunteers and staff—come together to do what a family does best—support one another in times of need. The Emergency Assistance Fund is available in times of great need.

Joanne applied for emergency funding last year. She is a 20-year employee who experienced a severe diabetic incident. So severe was the incident that she needed ongoing treatments to save her eyesight. Every week for eight weeks a procedure was required to reduce pressure in her eyes. She thought she would be okay but the time off work after each procedure was hard on finances. Her landlord was a friend and wouldn't evict for nonpayment but, nonetheless, the rent was due. Without a spouse or family to help she sought out the Emergency Assistance Fund for help.

The Employee Emergency Assistance Fund provides confidential, limited emergency financial assistance to meet immediate, essential expenses due to a temporary hardship or related to an emergency outside of the employee's control. The fund is not intended to supplement income for long-standing financial problems. It is designed to pay certain specific expenses incurred as a result of the defined emergency or hardship. Joanne received help for rent and other expenses until the eye treatments were over.

At Presbyterian Homes, you don't need to look very far to find a friend. It's usually in the person right beside you, serving you, the person on the other end of the phone, or the one holding your hand when you need someone to be there with you. The generosity of friends, residents and staff alike are there to help. Donations to the fund are always needed! Judith Noble, a longtime resident, neighbor and friend to many residents and employees alike passed away this past spring. Her husband, Bob, requested memorials in Judy's name be directed to the Employee Emergency Assistance Fund. Judy was always there to help; even after passing, efforts in her name continue. God bless her.
